Won’t the berberine in Balance activate AMPK and suppress mTOR, inhibiting muscle growth?
I see you’ve been reading your science textbooks (or browsing Reddit ;).
While berberine is a potent activator of AMPK, which antagonizes mTOR (the main enzyme that regulates muscle protein synthesis), that doesn’t mean it's always going to inhibit muscle growth. After all, muscle contractions themselves activate[1] AMPK, and no one believes that working out slows down or prevents muscle growth.

The easiest way to avoid this problem is to take them with different meals, so that one is finished digesting before the other enters your stomach.

A GDA is a substance that purportedly improves the body’s ability to store glucose in muscle cells instead of fat cells.
Here’s the rub: “Glucose disposal agent” isn’t a scientific term. It was coined by marketers and supplement enthusiasts, and there’s no official definition of what is or isn’t a GDA.
What’s more, most of the substances that people claim are GDAs, really aren’t, and this also applies to berberine, which you can find in Balance.
Berberine improves your cells’ ability to absorb glucose, but it doesn’t preferentially cause glucose to be absorbed by muscle cells. Instead, it improves both fat and muscle cells’ ability to absorb glucose.
