Legion Vitamin D+K Gummies Ingredients (280 micrograms per serving)

Vitamin D3 (100 micrograms/4,000 IU per serving)

Vitamin D3—also known as cholecalciferol—is a fat-soluble nutrient your body produces when your skin is exposed to sunlight. It’s also found in small amounts in foods like fatty fish, egg yolks, liver, and fortified dairy products.

Vitamin D helps your body absorb and use calcium, a mineral your bones need to stay strong and your muscles need to function properly.

It also interacts with receptors in muscle tissue to support muscle strength, repair, and athletic performance, and helps regulate your immune system so it responds appropriately to potential threats.

Research shows that supplementation with vitamin D3 . . .

The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for vitamin D for adults is between 15 and 20 mcg (600 and 800 IU), but research shows that this often isn’t enough to prevent deficiencies or insufficiencies, even in people who eat a healthy diet.[17]

Instead, studies show that 50 mcg (2,000 IU) per day is required to safely prevent vitamin D3 deficiencies and insufficiencies in most people.[18]

That said, how much vitamin D your body makes and absorbs varies widely based on your body weight, skin tone, age, sun exposure, and other variables, and it’s possible that even 50 mcg might not be enough to prevent a vitamin D deficiency for some.[19] Research also shows that people can take up to 250 mcg (10,000 IU) per day without negative effects.[20][21]

Thus, 100 mcg is a sensible dose. It’s enough to prevent vitamin D deficiency in almost everyone and is safe.

Vitamin K2 as MK-7 (180 micrograms per serving)

Vitamin K2 is the name given to a family of fat-soluble vitamins called menaquinones, which are primarily found in fermented foods, organ meats, egg yolks, and cheese.

These compounds activate proteins that regulate how your body uses calcium, helping deposit it in bones.

The two main menaquinones used in vitamin K2 supplements are menaquinone-4 (MK-4) and menaquinone-7 (MK-7).

Of the two, MK-7 is better suited to daily supplementation because your body breaks it down slowly, so a single daily dose keeps your vitamin K2 levels steady from one day to the next. MK-4, on the other hand, gets broken down much quicker, so you usually have to take it several times daily to get the same benefits.

Research shows that supplementing with vitamin K2 . . .

The clinically effective dose of vitamin K2 as MK-7 is between 180 and 360 micrograms per day.

Naturally Sweetened and Flavored

While artificial sweeteners, food dyes, and fillers may not be as dangerous as some people claim, studies suggest that regular consumption of these chemicals may indeed be harmful to our health.[35][36][37][38][39][40]

That’s why we use natural sweeteners like stevia, allulose, and monk fruit instead as well as natural coloring and flavoring derived from fruits and other foods. Research shows that these ingredients are not only safe but can also confer several health benefits, such as supporting weight management, antioxidant activity, digestive health, and more.[41][42][43][44]

No Artificial Food Dyes, Fillers, or Other Unnecessary Junk

As with artificial sweeteners, studies show that artificial food dyes and fillers can cause negative effects in some people, including gastrointestinal toxicity and behavioral disorders.[45][46][47][48][49]

That’s why we use natural coloring and flavoring derived from fruits and other foods as well as naturally derived ingredients for improving texture, enhancing shelf life, and facilitating the manufacturing process.
