What has happened so far on the program?

Not only am I 100% happy with the way I look now, but I feel better, I have more energy and I’m just all around a lot more happy. Lifting is a great stress release. I get anxious on my days off from the gym. If I could lift everyday I would. The week off period every 8 weeks or so was pure torture!

What do you like most about the program?

That it focused on the importance of a healthy diet, not just “lift this weight” like all the gyms advertise and a lot of books. I lifted for a year before I got Mike’s book, without changing my diet, and really saw no results. I was in Denver yesterday while on tour. I’m a LA Fitness member nationwide and while on tour I have go to whichever gym is closest to the venue we are playing. Bally’s in Denver literally had a Coke machine in the men’s locker room. My mind was blown. Plus most the trainers there had their clients doing some of the most pointless exercises or some that I have never seen that I was trying to figure out what muscle group it worked out… or ones where they are clearly lifting too much weight. I was waiting to see some back snap action happen right in front of me.

So anyone starting this program or any program, most trainers like Mike mentions in his book really don’t know what they are doing, some will even interrupt your workout to try and give you advise when they look so out of shape I would have never guessed they even worked out. Just stay focused on your workout routine and most importantly your diet. It really is around 70%. When I went from bulking to cutting I changed nothing in my workout routine, I only changed my diet.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

My only fear was from playing guitar professionally and the possibility of having a injury happen while lifting. It didn’t though, just made sure to really focus on warming up, stretching and having proper form and a spotter on all heavy lifts. Other than that I couldn’t wait to get started. I read the book in one sitting, and then went back through re-reading parts that I couldn’t remember. It’s to the point and easy to follow and understand. Plus, its a bonus you care enough to write people back!

Would you recommend this program? If so, why?

Already have. If you follow my updates on facebook.com/chrisletchford or on instagram @chrisletchford being some what of a guitar player celebrity, I have a ton of followers. I have recommended this book to thousands of people since I got it last October. I, like yourself respond to all fan mail, and now since I have been lifting for a while with great results, 1/2 my fan mail has turned into questions about health and fitness. So I preach about diet and then recommend your book to them.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

When people say anyone can accomplish the fitness results they want, they aren’t making it up. You really can, you just have to dedicate yourself to an hour of your day, 3-5 days a week for the gym and then a healthy diet. I had a friend and past student who lost 100 lbs in just one year from lifting/cardio and a healthy diet. So yes, anyone can do it!

Most people tend to not want to start programs for better health because they think the food doesn’t taste good. While for most, it wont at first since they are use to so much overly processed foods soaked in sugar and salts. You can reprogram your taste buds though. Fruits and vegetables now taste better to me than they ever had. I use to eat a good amount of candy and about a soda a day. I no longer drink or eat any sugar, maybe a soda here and there during my one cheat meal a week. I feel 10 times better than I ever have, plus much happier with the way I look!
