How many months’ progress do your pictures represent? What were your stats for each picture?

6-7 months of progress, 25% body fat down to 11-15%.

Before: 230 pounds in February

After: 197 pounds in August

What has happened so far on the program?

All my big lifts have gone up, squat started at 135 pounds, now is 275, deadlift started at 135, now pulling 315 pounds, bench 135 pounds, now 205 pounds, military press started at 95 pounds, now pressing 155 pounds.

Before Bigger Leaner Stronger I used to superset, drop set, use the machines, very rarely deadlifted or squatted properly. Barbell was mostly for the bench press. High rep workouts, too much cardio. Now I do HIIT 3-4 a week, 20 minutes a session and use the ab wheel on non-cardio days.

Have been cutting the whole time to get down to the goal bodyweight then follow the program and use a slight surplus to gain. Cut back down, rinse and repeat.

My goal is to bring my weight down to a 185-195 range, and float in that 8-12% body fat, be happy, comfortable and able to have surplus days and not be phased by them. Not obsess over calories.

What workout split from the book did you use?

I used a 4/5 day split then take a day off, repeat. Using the sets and rep ranges in the program. If I hit 6 reps I would add weight to the bar, simple and yet so very effective.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

Nothing kept me from buying the book. First time I saw my friend with the book. I liked the title, who doesn’t want to be bigger, leaner, stronger. I bought the audiobook.

I work out of town and spend lots of hours on the road. Very easy to follow along throughout the book. Very informative information, I would be at the gym and listen to the book as well.

What do you like most about the program?

I love lifting heavyweight now, always pushing your limits. Tracking calories, workout journal, seeing the numbers. Once you buy into the system it really works.

How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?

It compares that I don’t waste my time, you go in, lift heavy get out. Knowing, based on science it’s working.

How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?

It has changed my approach to all areas. Life can be compared to reps, I feel I can do anything now. More reps you put in the better. Confidence in your own skin can radiate off someone. I love waking up, I love going out the door to accomplish my goals.

Who would you recommend this program to and why?

I always recommend the books to people. Lots of people ask, and I always say read this book. Lift heavyweight and track your calories.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Be patient. The system works, math and science, it’s a numbers game. 1-2 pounds of fat a week takes serious time, consistent effort. When done consistently it works, when done inconsistently it doesn’t work and people get discouraged. Stay on track and the results will show.

Did you use any Legion supplements?

I started by ordering Pulse. Best pre-workout on the market, I’ve tried all sorts of other brands. Ingredients that work. No filler, exactly as advertised. Love what Legion represents and have increased my supplements to include the multi, fish oil and greens. Love ’em.
