"The program gave me real belief that I too can have the body I thought was reserved for others!"

What has happened so far on the program?

I’ve been strength training for about 7 weeks now following the program in the book. In that time, my body fat has dropped another few percent and I can see real definition in my upper body which I am thrilled about. I am the first to admit however that my gains have probably been limited by the fact that I am still eating in a calorie deficit. The general advice I have found out there including on this website is to not begin bulking until you are somewhere in the 10% – 12% bf range. I’m about 11% now and would like to drop maybe another half percent before I start bulking. I hope to see much better gains then.

What do you like most about the program?

I like how it is laid out logically. 5 days a week, each day working one major muscle group. The book also explains why you are working those muscle groups and what the specific exercises do to your body. Knowing this, I find it easier to stay motivated.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

To begin with, I just wanted to lose weight and be slimmer. Getting toned or ripped wasn’t even on my mind at all. But as you complete each body transformation goal, you look to the next and so after losing weight and then toning up through Freeletics, I realized that with a bit more work, I could have quite a lean, maybe even ripped body so I started looking for resources online to learn more about how I could achieve this which is when I came across your book and all its positive reviews on Amazon.

What are three other benefits of the program?

I think the book is excellent in general. It spends a lot of time discussing diet, the importance of each macronutrient and how much of each and when you should take based on your size. I’ve always heard that diet is more important than exercise for getting ripped but I never really took it seriously until reading Mike’s book where it is explained in a simple and easy to follow way that leaves you in no doubt what you should be doing and how. There is also an excellent section on supplements!

Would you recommend this program? If so, why?

Definitely. The book blends together a perfect mix of advice on diet, supplements, how the body works, what exercises to do and when in such a way that is easy to follow and logical. Normally I think all of these factors would be overwhelming to take on board and follow but Mike does a great job of explaining it all in non-body builder language that those new to strength training can not only understand, but don’t feel alienated by. The program/book has given me real belief that I too can have the body that I thought was only reserved for others and that I can be part of the gang!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

A lot of skinny guys are afraid to set foot in the weights section of the gym. It’s easy to get intimidated by all the massive guys pumping iron in there and feel out of place and very self-conscious. Mike’s book not only gave me the confidence to get over this, but the belief to give it a go and having put all the advice he dispels into practice, results are coming really quickly which just goes to further my belief and confidence. Any guy (or girl) who has ever wanted a great body but never believed it would be possible for them should read this book. The way Mike breaks it all down, its really not that complicated when you know what you are doing!
