"I have way more energy, way less back pain, and I don't feel as stressed while at work."
How many months’ progress do your pictures represent? What were your stats for each picture?
My journey so far has been over 6 months. I started at 183 lbs and I have dropped over 11 pounds with a current weight of 172. I was at around 23% body fat and I am now happily at around 14%.
What has happened so far on the program?
I have been cutting the whole time by following Mike’s plan that he outlined in Bigger Leaner Stronger. I have lost over 10 pounds easily over the past couple of months by just eating less and lifting heavier. My gains have been incredible.
I have added 50 pounds on my bench press (now benching 245), 65 to my deadlifts (now deadlifting 265), 55 to my squats (now squatting 255). I had never military pressed prior to this system, that being said I am now pressing 135.
What workout split from the book did you use?
I did a 3-4 day split with cardio put in on my off days 🙂
What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?
My hesitancy is just taking time from my family, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this book had me lifting for shorter periods but gaining so much more.
What do you like most about the program?
I really just love how to the point the book is. Mike does a great job of just weeding out the crap and getting to the point. He sets you up with a system that you wouldn’t think would work based on all you read and see on TV, but it just does. I had results every week, my lifts just kept increasing and it was so surprising to see how easy it was. I love it.
How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?
I have done a lot of fitness trends, I have done whole 30, vegetarian, paleo. I have done the beach body circuits and spent hours in the gym, but Bigger Leaner Stronger just beats them all. It gives you simple solutions and spells out the details needed in a short but effective way.
How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?
It has taught me that I can kill two birds with one stone. I would take my son in the stroller on my runs to get some cardio in. I also had a lot more free time by cutting my time spent lifting in half. I have way more energy, way less back pain, and I don’t feel as stressed while at work.
Who would you recommend this program to and why?
I would recommend this to anyone. I had been lifting for years before reading Bigger Leaner Stronger and it just changed my aspect on working out. It is great for anyone, no matter where they are on their journey. It sets you up or corrects you by giving great explanations and plans.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Just no matter where you are, you can do this. Stop making excuses and start by just making the change for yourself. You will not regret it.
Did you use any Legion supplements?
I did not, but after finishing off the giant bag of protein I had bought months ago I plan on trying it out 🙂
