How many months’ progress do your pictures represent? What were your stats for each picture?

I started the Bigger Leaner Stronger program on February 8th, 2021 at 18% body fat. I’ve worked out for 15 years now and THOUGHT I knew a fair amount about fitness and progression and felt pretty strong and healthy. When I took my initial measurements I was honestly surprised that I had as much body fat as I did as I had been eating healthy and working out for years.

I absolutely loved the Bigger Leaner Stronger book and felt like it filled in many gaps in my knowledge of fitness including misunderstandings around diet and exercise. The after pictures were taken just 2 months later on April 16th, 2021 at 9.5% body fat. I’m down over 20 pounds, under 10% body fat, and ALL of my lifts are up from where I started two months ago. I couldn’t be happier with the Bigger Leaner Stronger program.

What has happened so far on the program?

I began to see results pretty immediately once I started Bigger Leaner Stronger. I set my macros to 40/40/20 as recommended, set my daily total to 2250 calories, and started seeing results very consistently. I loved that I was able to still eat fairly normally as long as I worked out the macros. I never felt like I was overcome with cravings because I could find ways to work my favorite foods in.

My favorite meals have been rice and crockpot chicken with a little rococo sauce (careful not to go overboard on the fats), egg whites, whole grain toast, vegetables, protein shakes, Greek yogurt even cookies, brownies, and cold cereal once in a while!

What workout split from the book did you use?

5-day split.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

I’ve read a lot of fitness books and followed other programs (Body For Life, 4 Hour Body, BodyBuilding.com Programs, and more) so my only hesitation was really whether or not I would learn anything “new”. I learned WAY more than I expected. This really feels like a program that I’ll be able to follow indefinitely (cycling between Cut / Maintenance / Bulk).

What do you like most about the program?

I love how Mike introduces concepts in such a clear and simple way and then builds from there. I never felt like he was teaching something just to sound smart or to sell some product. Every single thing I learned seemed to be backed both by studies and real-life practice and the results showed as soon as I put it to the test.

How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?

The diet was amazing compared to other programs. I’ve counted calories before and tried other diets like KETO. I always knew that the real reason they worked (or didn’t) was energy balance, but I’d never had anyone explain it to me the way Mike did in Bigger Leaner Stronger.

After reading about energy balance, nutrient selection, and more suddenly every diet I had tried over the previous 15 years finally made sense. I understood WHY things worked (or didn’t) and I felt like I was totally empowered to put together a meal plan for myself that I would actually enjoy and the results were fantastic.

The workouts followed a similar pattern to workouts I’d done in the past, but I loved how they focused on limited reps, strategically set up to maximize muscle growth as efficiently as possible. My workouts take about the same amount of time as before, but I’m doing fewer reps and higher weight with better results.

How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?

The biggest “bonus” in addition to a Bigger Leaner Stronger body is I really feel like I have a MUCH better understanding of how diet and strength training really work and can use the knowledge to continue to improve myself in the future.

I am only a couple of months into the program and done with my first cut, but I can’t wait to see what I can do after a maintenance and bulk phase. I always felt limited by my genetics, but now I feel like I have so much more potential than I’ve been able to tap into previously.

Who would you recommend this program to and why?

I recommend this program all the time! My wife is now working out with me following the Thinner Leaner Stronger program along with other neighbors and friends. It’s easy to follow, yields fast results, and is actually fun!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

There are days I don’t want to workout or follow the diet, but just looking back at my workout records, pictures, and measurements I’ve found that the results are worth the struggle.

Did you use any Legion supplements?

I haven’t used any supplements, yet. My wife is using Legion. Excited to try some in the future.
