What has happened so far on the program?

I was at 20% body fat and at 133 pounds.  I am now at 15.5 % and am 126 pounds.

I lost 7 pounds.  While that does not seem a lot to some, I am amazed at my before and after photos.  My muscle definition is showing.  I lift heavy and almost as much as my husband now. I lift heavy and am proud of it.  I cut my body fat by 4.5%, but at the same time I kept my muscle and perhaps gained some.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

I saw some reviews on Amazon.  They were all pretty positive.  However, I am a bit skeptical about anyone who tries to sell diet or fitness advice.  Many of them use fad or false information.  I am so glad I did though.  Mike and Tom Venuto are now my favorite fitness authors.  Practical and based on science.

What do you like most about the program?

What I like about the program is that it’s practical and based on science. I read Thinner Leaner Stronger and well as Bigger Leaner Stronger. Mike doesn’t give you any false information or “broscience.”  You get accurate information and macros that actually work. He doesn’t believe in low carb diets or depriving yourself.  Best of all it actually works.

This is a program I recommend to my friends and family because it’s easy to follow.  I tell the ladies that I know to lift heavy with lower reps all the time..  No, you won’t get “bulky.”  I am proof of that.  What you get is a lean, ripped, and curvy physique.  The results exceeded my expectations.

How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?

I tried a bunch of cardio programs before and also weight training that told ladies to stay in the 15 rep range.  I was one of the many women who believed that training heavy would make me look like a bodybuilder.  I was afraid to lift heavy.  Did I look okay?  Yes, I did.  However, trying the heavy weights and low reps gave me more definition now than I had before.

I also tried low carb diets which left me with no energy and depleted..  Mike in his books tell you that is not necessary.  I stayed pretty much with a 40% carbs 40% protein and 20% fat macros when cutting and it worked amazing.  The best part is that I felt great too,  I actually have energy for my workouts.  As far as the workouts go, I don’t have to count a bunch of reps.  I stick to about 6 reps and it allows me to concentrate more.  I feel so powerful and am get stronger everyday

How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?

Wow, is there any downside to this?  I have so much energy and feel so amazing.  My husband says I look great too so I will take his word for it.  I look forward to my workouts and am excited about the progress.  I am thinking about competing this year as well as possibly dabbling into some fitness modeling. I also now want to get my CPT and would love to be a trainer as amazing as Mike.  He is my role model and I hope I can teach others everything I learned in his books.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Anyone can do this, beginner or advanced.   I would not recommend a book I don’t stand 100% behind.  Mike is one of the few trainers and fitness author’s that I would recommend to someone.  It’s not a fad or gimmick, it’s a way of life.  Read it and you will see results.
