What has happened so far on the program?

Progress on the scale was modest at best – I lost about a kg in 3 month. But even though I couldn’t measure it I feel like my muscle to fat ratio has changed noticeably. I doubled or tripled the reps for most exercises like pull-ups, push-ups, dips etc. and was able to move on to more challenging variations like handstand push-ups etc. Considering my weight of about 96 kg I think this counts a big lift. 😉

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

On first sight I thought it was for weightlifting only and I was determined to train with body weight only. I had read “You Are Your Own Gym” before and followed the barstarzz community online, so I was well aware of exercises. However “Bigger Leaner Stronger” seemed to provide me with the final piece of the puzzle concerning diet, supplements and scientific explanations and background.

What do you like most about the program?

The scientific background combined with diet and supplements helped a lot. I am an engineer, once I understood how it works, it was much easier to adjust my training and diet. Putting all that together results kicked in pretty quick. After a couple of days I felt my energy levels where higher, after a week or two I began feeling stronger. After a month I started seeing results in the mirror and from there on I was so motivated progress even accelerated.

How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?

It delivers the full package (if you are into weightlifting) without any BS or subtle advertisement. I am a guy, so I never tried any diets and YAYOG had an amazing exercises guide, but was a little short on diet and supplements.

How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?

I used to be in better shape a couple of years ago. After I stopped smoking I gained over 15 kg and just got lazy. I was still proud of the other areas of my life, just a lot less comfortable taking my shirt of or going for a swim. But now I feel freaking invincible. My posture has improved, I am full of energy and let’s just say my girlfriend is pretty happy too.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Stop making excuses and start doing it. Everyone can spare 30-45min every other day to workout at home or at the gym. You can do push-ups in front of the TV, pull-ups on your local playground (just wait for the kids to go home) and for less than 200$ you can get the push-up handles and a fold-able dip bar.
