Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician and “Father of Modern Medicine,” once said that all disease starts in the gut.
Although not entirely true, it was a perceptive observation—when gut health is compromised, the risk of disease and disorder rises markedly.
This is because the “gut” is a lot more than just the stomach. It’s your entire digestive system, including your mouth and teeth, esophagus, stomach, and small and large intestines.
You can think of the gut as a long assembly line, with each section performing a separate job, and because of its complexity, there are many ways for it to influence your health and well-being.
In fact, it’s not a stretch to say that the state of your gut will determine much of the quality of your life.
For instance, scientists have discovered that a healthy bacterial landscape in the gut (microbiome) is an important defense mechanism against obesity; many gastrointestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS) and disease (IBD); mood disorder, brain dysfunction, stress, anxiety, depression, and even autism.
That’s why we created Balance.
It’s a 100% natural gut health supplement that reduces intestinal inflammation, enhances nutrient absorption, and improves carbohydrate metabolism.
That is, Balance improves your body’s ability to process and use the food you eat, and this can reduce bloating and gassiness, increase energy and vitality, and support the metabolism.
The reason it’s so effective is simple:
Every ingredient is backed by peer-reviewed scientific research and is included at clinically effective levels.
That means the ingredients and doses in Balance are based on published scientific research demonstrating real benefits, not the restrictions of razor-thin production budgets or gluttonous profit margins.
In other words, we don’t just claim to have the best gut health supplement on the market—we back it up with real science and real numbers.
So, if you want a healthy and functional gut that supports your mental and physical well-being and protects against disease and dysfunction . . . you want to try Balance today.
You won’t be disappointed.
In fact, if you don’t absolutely love Balance, just let us know and we’ll give you a full refund on the spot. No form or return necessary.
You really can’t lose, so order now and get ready to enjoy a healthier and happier gut that rewards you with less discomfort and distress and more vitality and wellness.

There are three primary ways to maintain a healthy gut:
Support intestinal cells and bacteria
For a long time, scientists believed intestinal bacteria (referred to as the gut / microbiome) operated essentially as digestive aids, but we now know that the variety and quantity of bacteria affect our overall health and well-being in many ways.
For example, they break down toxic compounds that would otherwise be absorbed into the bloodstream, they can enhance the immune system, and they create health-promoting compounds like short-chain fatty acids, which are molecules associated with a reduced risk of inflammatory diseases, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. [1][2]
Regulate inflammation levels
When the intestines become inflamed, they can’t absorb nutrients as well and digestive discomfort and diarrhea become commonplace.
What’s more, if inflammation becomes excessive, it can lead to serious health conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis (UC), and, in those genetically predisposed to it, Crohn's disease.
Avoid other causes of intestinal damage and irritation
The intestines are remarkably resilient, but their ability to regenerate themselves can become compromised if exposed to too many irritants and harmful molecules.
This often results in diarrhea and cramping, and if it goes on for too long, it can result in nutritional insufficiencies and deficiencies that become harder and harder to correct.
To accomplish these three goals, we must do several things:
Eat plenty of protein, fibrous fruits and vegetables, and omega-3 fatty acids
Avoid foods that increase inflammation in the body (like highly processed fare) or cause gastrointestinal discomfort
Limit the intake of alcohol
Furthermore, we should also exercise regularly and maintain good sleep hygiene, as research shows these activities are intimately associated with gut health and function. [3][4]
Supplementation can help as well, by maintaining an abundance of healthful gut bacteria, reducing gastrointestinal inflammation, and protecting against intestinal injury.
That’s why we created Balance.
It’s the result of an extensive scientific review of a wide variety of natural molecules known to enhance digestion, intestinal health and function, gut microbiome activity, and blood sugar control.
Let’s take a look at the formulation.
Berberine
Berberine is a compound found in several plants, including a group of shrubs called Berberis.
It has long been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat various ailments, including diarrhea, cholera, and other digestive disorders, as well as feelings of fatigue and infirmity.
Research shows that supplementation with berberine . . .
Reduces intestinal inflammation, which eases discomfort and may enhance nutrient absorption [5]
Prevents infections and protect against medical conditions that cause diarrhea, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) [6][7][8]
Improves blood glucose control, which can enhance energy levels, appetite control, and cognition, as well as reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart attack [9][10][11]
May enhance the function of healthful gut bacteria[12][13]
The clinically effective dose of berberine is between 900 and 1,500 milligrams.
Balance contains 1,500 milligrams of berberine per serving.
Artichoke Leaf Extract
Artichoke leaf extract is a substance derived from the ground-up leaves of the edible flower heads of the artichoke plant.
It contains molecules known as caffeoylquinic acid and cynaropicrin, and research shows the former is an effective antioxidant, and the latter increases bile acid secretion from liver cells and relaxes the small intestine.[14][15][16][17]
This is why studies show that supplementation with artichoke leaf extract aids in the digestion of fatty acids and can alleviate dysfunctional dyspepsia in the small intestine.[18]
Additionally, research shows that artichoke leaf extract can improve blood glucose control in people genetically predisposed to high blood glucose levels (people of Polynesian and Native American descent, for instance). [19][20][21]
The clinically effective dose of artichoke leaf extract is 1,800 milligrams.
Balance contains 1,800 milligrams of artichoke leaf extract per serving.
Bromelain
Bromelain is an enzyme found in pineapple that helps with the digestion of protein. [22]
By improving your body’s ability to digest protein, you can enhance the absorption of amino acids and reduce digestive distress and flatulence resulting from malabsorption.
The clinically effective dose of bromelain is unknown, but the standard protocol is approximately 50 GDU (Gelatin Digesting Unit, which is a measure of enzyme potency) per meal.
Balance contains 150 GDU of bromelain per serving.
This is higher than the per-meal dose because we intend for people to take one serving of Balance per day spread evenly between at least three meals.
Pepsin
Pepsin is an enzyme found in the stomach that helps with the digestion of protein.[23]
By improving your body’s ability to digest protein, you can enhance the absorption of amino acids and reduce digestive distress and flatulence resulting from malabsorption.
The clinically effective dose of pepsin is unknown, but the standard protocol is approximately 150,000 FCC (Food Chemical Codex, which is a measure of enzyme potency) per meal.
Balance contains 500,000 FCC of pepsin per serving.
This is higher than the per-meal dose because we intend for people to take one serving of Balance per day spread evenly between at least three meals.
Papain
Papain is an enzyme found in papaya that also helps with the digestion of protein. [24]
By improving your body’s ability to digest protein, you can enhance the absorption of amino acids and reduce digestive distress and flatulence resulting from malabsorption.
The clinically effective dose of papain is unknown, but the standard protocol is approximately 30,000 PU (Papain Unit, which is a measure of enzyme potency) per meal.
Balance contains 100,000 PU of papain per serving.
This is higher than the per-meal dose because we intend for people to take one serving of Balance per day spread evenly between at least three meals.
The Bottom Line
Balance is a 100% natural gut health supplement that reduces intestinal inflammation, enhances nutrient absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity and carbohydrate metabolism.
In other words, while everyone claims to have the best gut support supplement on the market, we can actually back it up with real science and real numbers.

Why doesn't Balance contain any ingredients for enhancing the absorption of carbohydrate?
Most people don’t have any trouble absorbing carbohydrates, and so including these kinds of ingredients would have just increased the cost without doing much for you, the consumer. As a result, we included other types of enzymes that research shows would be more beneficial for most people.
Won’t the berberine in Balance activate AMPK and suppress mTOR, inhibiting muscle growth?
I see you’ve been reading your science textbooks (or browsing Reddit ;).
While berberine is a potent activator of AMPK, which antagonizes mTOR (the main enzyme that regulates muscle protein synthesis), that doesn’t mean it's always going to inhibit muscle growth. After all, muscle contractions themselves activate[1] AMPK, and no one believes that working out slows down or prevents muscle growth.
Balance contains gut-supporting ingredients not found in everyday foods that improve nutrient absorption and insulin sensitivity. In other words, Balance helps your body process and use the food you eat, regardless of how healthy your diet may be.
Can Balance help me if I don't eat well?
Yes.
While no supplement can take the place of healthy living, Balance can help your gut even if your diet isn’t as good as it should be.
Balance can help reduce inflammation caused by processed foods and protect against intestinal injury. It can also fight against digestive issues like indigestion, IBS, and diarrhea, and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart attack, which can be exacerbated by poor diet.
That said, Balance is only a supplement. The most effective way to improve your gut health is to get regular exercise, eat a nutritious diet, and maintain good sleep hygiene.
Can Balance help me if I don't have any digestive issues?
Yes.
Even if you’re not experiencing digestive issues, Balance can enhance nutrient absorption and improve blood glucose control, which can help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart attack.
Improving your gut health can also increase energy levels, reduce hunger, and boost mood.
Can Balance help me build muscle?
That’s not its purpose, but possibly. If gassiness and bloating are preventing you from eating enough calories or protein to maximize muscle growth, then Balance could help by improving your digestion and making it easier to eat enough food to build muscle.
Why doesn't Balance contain “good” bacteria (probiotics) like other gut health supplements?
The reason we didn’t include probiotics is that berberine has antibacterial properties. When both of these ingredients are combined in the same capsule, the berberine could kill much of the bacteria, negating its beneficial effects. While no studies have proven this is the case, it’s a risk we didn’t want to take.
What’s the best time to take Balance?
With meals.
If you have more than three meals per day, take Balance with your largest meals, or the ones that tend to contain more protein, carbohydrate, or fat, or that you’ve found tend to cause the most indigestion, bloating, and gas.
Can Balance help with PCOS?
Maybe.
Studies show that berberine and Metformin are somewhat comparable[1] in reducing insulin resistance related to PCOS, so it could be worth a try. Talk to your doctor if you’d like to try taking it for this purpose.
A GDA is a substance that purportedly improves the body’s ability to store glucose in muscle cells instead of fat cells.
Here’s the rub: “Glucose disposal agent” isn’t a scientific term. It was coined by marketers and supplement enthusiasts, and there’s no official definition of what is or isn’t a GDA.
What’s more, most of the substances that people claim are GDAs, really aren’t, and this also applies to berberine, which you can find in Balance.
Berberine improves your cells’ ability to absorb glucose, but it doesn’t preferentially cause glucose to be absorbed by muscle cells. Instead, it improves both fat and muscle cells’ ability to absorb glucose. This means your body doesn’t need to produce as much insulin, but it doesn’t mean that berberine will allow you to eat as many carbs as you want without gaining body fat (no supplement can do this).
(And in case you’re wondering, this doesn’t mean that Balance will make you gain body fat—only a calorie surplus can do that).
So, you could call Balance a GDA, but don’t expect it to help you lose fat or gain muscle to any significant degree.
How long will it take before I notice results?
The answer to this question depends on the cause and extent of your digestive issues.
For example, if you’re experiencing bloating and gas because your body is struggling to digest fats and proteins, then you could notice benefits immediately after taking balance.
If you’re experiencing energy swings, diarrhea, and hunger after meals, though, then you may notice benefits within several days of beginning to take Balance.
If you’re experiencing indigestion due to eating a lot of fiber, though, you may benefit more from modifying your diet.
Why is there no L-glutamine in Balance?
L-glutamine is an amino acid that can help improve gut health by providing the intestines with the raw materials they need to quickly repair damage caused during digestion.
It’s not necessary to include in a gut supplement, though, because you can get all of the glutamine you need from high-protein foods, especially animal foods like beef, eggs, and dairy.
Can I take Balance while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We’re not aware of any reasons it would be harmful, but it’s always best to play it safe and check with your doctor first.
Can it help with “leaky gut?”
Possibly, but the answer depends on what you mean by “leaky gut.”
“Leaky gut” isn’t an official disease, condition, or diagnosis. Instead, it’s an informal catch-all term people often use to describe a situation where they experience indigestion, stomach pain, and depending on who you ask, brain fog, mood swings, diarrhea, acne, and many other health issues.
A more accurate term would be intestinal permeability, which is a situation where the small gaps between the cells that line your intestine expand wider than they should, allowing bacteria to escape the digestive system and enter the bloodstream. This bacteria can then cause inflammation, which is linked to a number of ailments.
That said, scientists are still debating how common this problem really is and the best ways to address it.
Researchers think[1] one potential cause of increased intestinal permeability may be inflammation. If that’s the case, the berberine in Balance could help reduce the symptoms of “leaky gut” by reducing inflammation, but it’s impossible to say for sure.
Are there any conflicting ingredients with other Legion supplements? Can I take Balance at the same time as other supplements?
Yes you can. There aren’t any conflicting ingredients.
That said, one thing to keep in mind is some Legion supplements (like Forge) are designed to be taken in a fasted state, so you wouldn’t take it at the same time as Balance, which should be taken with meals.
Are there any side-effects I should know about?
There shouldn’t be, but everyone is unique. If you experience anything unusual after taking Balance, shoot us an email and we’ll see if we can help!
Balance is kind of expensive. Why should I buy it over cheaper alternatives?
You can certainly find cheaper gut health supplements, but what are you getting for your money?
Take a look at the supplement facts panels of our competitors and chances are you’ll find several things:
They hide ingredient doses behind “proprietary blends,” which means they don’t want you to know what you’re buying.
High-quality ingredients are included in small (and sometimes miniscule) doses that are far below the clinically effective levels.
There are ingredients with little or no scientific evidence proving their benefits.
Balance is different.
Its formulation is 100% transparent, which means you know exactly what you’re getting for your money.
Each ingredient is backed by well-designed, peer-reviewed scientific studies that you can review at the bottom of the product page.
And each ingredient is included at clinically effective doses, which are the doses found in the scientific research backing its use.
How big are the pills?
Not too big for our horses. ;-)
They are standard medium-sized pills that go down easy.
Is Balance gluten-free? Soy-free? Dairy-free?
Yes.
Is Balance vegetarian friendly?
Yes.
Is Balance vegan friendly?
Yes.
