How many months’ progress do your pictures represent? What were your stats for each picture?

When I started in 2015, I was 260 lb and probably pushing 40% body fat.

The after picture was taken in 2017 and I am now 205 lb and 15% body fat according to caliper measurements.

What has happened so far on the program?

Initially, I cut from 260 lb down to 195 lb, dropping a total of 65 lb in the course of 8 months. During my most recent cut, I was able to drop 20 lb.

My big lifts all went up, especially when I was gaining weight and eating in a surplus. They eventually plateaued, though, when I got sloppy with my training and nutrition and fell off track. They are now going back up!

I went from not being able to bench 95 lb to benching 175 lb for reps, from not huffing and puffing to deadlift 150 lb to deadlifting 315 for reps (and climbing). My squat is still a work in progress, but I can do 205 lb for reps pretty well (still working on my form). I can also overhead press 115 lb for reps.

What workout split from the book did you use?

I used and still use the 5-day split and have added in an extra isolation day for arms.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

Not a thing. I had been looking for weight lifting routines, found Muscle for Life, and read just about everything on the site. Even bugged Mike a few times (maybe too many times), but I was excited about all the information I was learning. It all made sense and was backed by science!

What do you like most about the program?

I like the sanity of it. It’s not some crazy mix of things. It’s a well thought-out, researched program that is flexible and easy to follow.

How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?

To be honest, this is the first workout program I really tried to do. Prior to Bigger Leaner Stronger, I had tried doing what we did in the army, which was basically reaching muscle failure with weights 3 days a week and cardio on off days.

How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?

I have a ton more energy, I am far more confident, and now people come to me for advice.

Who would you recommend this program to and why?

I would recommend this program to anyone looking to make a change in their lives when it comes to fitness and nutrition. You can’t have one without the other, and I learned a lot about that following this program.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

If there is one thing I’d say to someone looking to make this change in their life is to just do it. It’s not gonna be easy, it takes effort and discipline, but it’s worth every bit of blood, sweat, and tears!

Did you use any Legion supplements?

I still use PULSE and RECHARGE. I have used FORGE, PHOENIX, LUNAR, FORTIFY, and TRIUMPH and love them all. I just wish I could buy them all, all the time, haha.
